magazine Spread

This project came together more smoothly and was overall more enjoyable to create, thanks to having a wider range of tools and design options at my disposal. By thoughtfully applying color, typography, and imagery, I was able to develop a visually appealing and easy-to-read article layout.

Color was used strategically to establish hierarchy within the text, helping to distinguish titles and guide the reader’s eye. Imagery played an important role not only in supporting the content but also in balancing negative space. The bird illustrations along the borders, for instance, help frame the layout while maintaining an open airy feel, an ideal tone for an article about birds.

The color palette was selected to complement both the subject and overall mood. The pastel tones of the background and the woman's clothing harmonize with the soft colors of the birds perched on the branches. This subtle contrast adds visual interest without becoming overwhelming.

Although the article is brief, the layout ensures it doesn't feel too short. The spacing allows the imagery and design elements to breathe, while thoughtful placement such as the orange branches cutting through the blue sky. Guiding the reader’s eye inward toward the body text, enhancing readability and focus.
